At present, many monitoring and evaluation systems have already been
implemented to facilitate the development of many education-based programs and the
like. These required extensive clerical work and a strict level of accuracy in order to
maximize its efficiency. The advantages of an electronic intervention is deemed
necessary not only for compliance of the E-commerce Act but also for the achievement of
greater efficiency, higher level of accuracy and the increase of productivity rates through
the reduction of time consumed in manual computing and analysis of data. For these
reasons, the computerized component of the CFSS Monitoring and Evaluation was
developed.
This computerized component of the CFSS Monitoring and Evaluation System is
named the CFSS Data Processing Program. This application software digitally stores
all data gathered from the properly administered, collected, and verified instruments
(including personal information, numeric data, and even open-ended answers), performs
different analyses on these data, and generates appropriate reports. The two (2)
subcomponents of the CFSS Data Processing Program are the Data Basing Information
and Database Merging & Analysis, identified in the previous section as Computer
Program #1 and Computer Program #2.
The CFSS M&E Data Processing Program was developed for the purpose of
Monitoring and Evaluating the Child Friendliness of Schools. The program is distributed
in CDROMS. For security reasons and portability, the program is only made available in
distributable CDROMs and not downloadable online. The CDROM is the most efficient
storage for the program because of its storage convenience and portability. The size of
the program is also considerably large at 18MB.
The installation CD contains the following files: interface.exe, cfss.exe,
manual.pdf, manual.chm, computerization_manual.pdf, and autorun.inf. The first file is a
setup interface that starts up by itself when the CD is inserted. The second file is
cfss.exe—the installer of CFSS M&E Data Processing Program. The next three files
contain the Manual for the program distributed in different formats.
The CFSS M&E Data Processing Program was developed to be maximized in the
Windows environment. Therefore, the system, external utilities, supporting programs,
references, etc were all exported in Windows recognizable format. Documents and other
references are distributed in PDF format.
